All week, we’ve been sharing the Top 5 Styles of 2011, and today’s entry was a no-brainer … it’s had its status “in the bag” since the early months of the year!
Clocking in as the No. 2 Style of 2011 is the Peace Love World Weekender Bag. Normally, it’s not nice to say something gets around, but with the PLW Weekender Bag, we’ll make an exception!
Back in January, our stylish Weekender Bag first became a reality show star when brandfan Kate Gosselin toted it, along with her multi-kid brood, down under to Australia for a taping of TLC’s Kate Plus 8. Then in June, the Pennsylvania-based mom took the Weekender in tow to Tennessee to help spread the word about Feeding America, a program that helps combat the country’s growing hunger problem. Hop on a plane cross-country and the Weekender’s fame train rolls forward, this time on a Los Angeles soundstage as the oversized bag is spotted onto the shoulder of Dancing With The Stars pro Karina Smirnoff.
For not only earning major frequent flier miles but also some karma points, our Weekend Bag is the runner-up for PLW Style Star of 2011. But you can champion it yourself by shopping the Weekender Bag today only for 10% off the regular price. Shop to it!
We’re counting down the Top 5 fun, flirtatious, and feisty styles of the year, and today’s Number 3 item is not only a crowd-pleaser, but perhaps the most photographed PLW item of 2011 …
Sitting squarely in the number 3 spot in Peace Love World’s Top 5 Styles of 2011 is the Just Love Pima V-Neck Tee. The reason? Two words: Jennifer. Lopez.
The Bronx Bombshell chose many a PLW piece for her daily wardrobe in 2011, but it was the Just Love Pima Tee was the fashion sidekick in her music video for “Papi” and the taping of her Fiat commercial. And in year of highs (American Idol) and lows (divorce), the best-dressed superstar’s buoyant spirit shined though and imbued life into whatever she wore, but even more with this tee, which easily describes how she feels about life: just LOVE.
Ready to steal J.Lo’s style? Shop her Just Love Pima V-Neck tee now, and today only, get 10% off the regular price! Hurry, like Jennifer’s Fiat, this deal will go fast!

It’s been a banner year for Peace Love World, as we’ve spread our message of joy and hope to every pocket of the globe (plus provided some major positivity via fashion for all our brandfans). But can you guess which five Peace Love World pieces were the most newsworthy, influential, and best-selling of the year? Stay tuned all week, as we countdown the Top Five PLW Styles of 2011, starting with today’s number 5 selection …
The No.5 slot for Peace Love World’s Top Styles of 2011 belongs to the I am Mom White V-Neck Tee. Sure, when we first designed this all-cotton tee, it was simply to honor all the great moms around the world, but it took one certain Momma Grizzly to put it on the map. Sarah Palin herself appeared at August’s Iowa State Fair, donning our I am Mom tee with casual ease. And though she didn’t make any speeches or statements, she solidified her personal platform that being the best mom possible is her most important role to date.

Sometimes kids can be fussy. Try to be a little adventurous when packing their schoolday lunch — like the time we tried sneaking baked potato chips instead of fried (FAIL) — and they come back in the afternoon only to hand you a lunchbag of untouched food. Now you feel just awful.
Get kids jazzed up for lunch again with our new line of Peace Love World Neoprene Lunchboxes, paired with a PLW Water Bottle. We’ve got them in four different styles, but each has a cheerful symbol, like the I am Love Heart, that’l show them they’re still the apple of your eye … even if you’ve already packed them a Granny Smith.
On this week’s Top 16 edition of “So You Think You Can Dance?” the dancers took on some of the toughest choreography this season – foxtrot, lyrical, Broadway – you name it! For our favorite Miami-native Ricky Jaime and his partner Ryan, their emotional contemporary piece carried a heavy theme of lost love. Although the rehearsals were nothing short of intense, Ricky was not losing love, but covered in it – PLW LOVE that is!
Ricky looked extra comfy wearing our Just Love Pima Organic Earth Natural V-Neck tee during rehearsals, the perfect lightweight cotton tee for fluid movement and, with a poignant, red LOVE print on the front – high spirits!
With amazing remarks from the judges, and a pass to next week’s round granted on Thursday’s elimination show, Ricky is sure to continue spreading the love on Season 8 of SYTYCD! Way to go, Mr. Jaime!
It’s no secret that the new season of “So You Think You Can Dance?” is already proving to be one of the most exciting ones to date – and the Wednesday-night edition of this summer staple was no exception.
Last night’s round was crucial, as two couples are set to be eliminated this week. First up was Miami’s very own Ricky Jaime, and his lovely partner Ryan performing a sultry, sexy Jazz routine that had even the dancers blushing!
After jokes and laughs over embarrassing secrets, Ryan & Ricky (or should we say Roderick!), jumped right into rehearsal. We were nothing short of ecstatic to see that Ricky was keeping cozy in the studio with our Love 2 Love Turk Peace Hoodie! We love the way he looks in it almost as much as we love him!
Ricky and Ryan rocked the routine, set to Robert Palmer’s “Addicted to Love”, and received excellent compliments from the judges!
The following night at the results show, Ricky donned the stage in none other than our Love 2 Love Ming Chaos Hoodie – a perfect symbol for what was probably going through his mind as Nigel announced he was safe for another week of the competition!
We definitely agree with Mary: we’re “addicted to the two of you” — could she have been talking about the hoodies, as well as the dancers?
Each Monday and Tuesday evening, the stars align just so for America’s favorite celebrity showdown, ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars,” and this season’s celebutestants are rehearsing their cha-chas off all week long in the latest PLW gear!
Between juggling time as a mom and NFL wife (plus learning scores of choreography with DWTS pro partner Louis Van Amstel), starlet and Girl Next Door Kendra Wilkinson keeps it, well, real, in our new Love 2 Love Fleece Pants in hotter-than-a-Paso-Doble red.
Now don’t tell Kendra’s Minnesota Viking husband Hank Baskett, but rival DWTSer/Pittsburgh Steeler Hines Ward is tearing up the dancefloor and stealing the judges’ hearts—all while sporting some major PLW! In these pic, the Super Bowl MVP chose to waltz away from the paparazzi in our Peace Metro Hoodie in White, while partner Kym Johnson kick-ball-chained in our I am Perfection Fleece Pants. Touchdown!
Charmer Ralph Macchio (recipient of the best 1980s line ever delivered by a punk with Karate Kid’s “Get Him a Body Bag!” … Don’t remember? Check it out here*), no longer fends off goons (only the scary Viennese Waltz), but his DWTS professional Karina Smirnoff has something else in the bag: our roomy PLW Weekender.
And finally, no one is immune to the charms of DWTS badboy Maksim Chmerkovskiy (including sassy celeb partner Kirstie Alley), but what can’t the hot-blooded ballroomer say no to? Why our Love 2 Love Hoodie in cooling Turquoise.
Pants will be big next fall — literally. Wide-legged styles were shown all over the recent runways paired with everything from simple button-ups to glamorous furs. [courtesy WWD]

This morning I sat down with one of the newest designers working under Alina Villasante. Meet Katrina Moreno, a young and eager new designer, who also happens to be part of the family. Katrina began working here about a year ago in the production department. Anytime she wasn’t pulling orders you would find her drawing names of the employees or sketching out the words Peace, Love, Happiness, Blessed and Chaos. Her sketches were found all over the office, on desks, and walls. Any day of the week one might find love notes with holiday sketches or a simple “I Love You” autographed by “KT” from her family nickname Katie. Her sweet and tender heart is what earned her the nickname “QTKT” from Alina (Cutie Katie). Katrina loves children and her affection for them enchanted Alina (she calls everyone an “angel”). This sweet young woman was a star in Alina’s eyes and she wanted to put her loving energy into the children’s line at Peace Love World.
One day Alina came to her office and found a pile of KT drawings on post-its. She loved the drawings and asked her to turn her handwritten letters into t-shirt designs. The first samples she did were to place the “I am” quotes on the sleeves of our long sleeve toddler and youth tees. The first sample pieces were so adorable and popular, we sold out in our stores before the holiday rush. This was the beginning of the QTKT Collection and the QTKT official font was born.
Right away, Alina knew we were on to something! Katrina started working on a new collection just for children that would be an extension of one of our new lines for adults, Love 2 Love. The QTKT Love 2 Love Collection would introduce color to our kids and have that urban edge from her unique font design. Bold colors and positive message are the trend for Fall:
I am Peace in periwinkle blue
I am Love in hot pink
I am Happiness in yellow
I am Blessed in black
I am Chaos in purple
I am Light in Kelly green
When asked which is her favorite, Katrina gushes, “Purple chaos! I love purple, it’s my favorite color. But Love is my favorite symbol.” The QTKT Love 2 Love Collection consists of three pieces made from brushed cotton. They are our most popular fleece hoodie, fleece pants, and a new short-sleeve v-neck t-shirt. They are comfy, cozy, and just too cute! The QTKT Love 2 Love Collection will be available August 2011 for Fall in sizes small (4/5) through x-large (16) both online at www.peaceloveworld.com and in select boutiques around the country. Buyers can find it at the ENK Children’s Club trade show in New York next week at booth #8308. In the very near future you will be able to download the official QTKT digitized font so you can send your own love notes to someone special!
Besides Love 2 Love, there are other QTKT collections coming this Fall modeled after the adult collections. QTKT Boheme will feature wide leg pants, a raglan top, slouchy beanie and a scarf. The pants and top are a French Terry with a touch of spandex and the beanie and scarf are a pima/modal/jersey blend. Like the adult line, the graphics are more subtle with tone on tone in interesting colors called limo (off-black) and drizzle (grey) in addition to white. These are the same colors available in the adult collection. By having similar yet different collections for adults and youth, we are satisfying our customer’s need to have outfits that match for mother and daughter but not too matchy-matchy. We know our young fans are very fashion forward. Imagine your holiday card this year in Boheme! Very chic.
Never wanting to forget where we came from, our original staple tees have been injected with a little QTKT love! The new designs are brushed Pima cotton fabric available in short-sleeve v-neck tees or a long sleeve metro hoodie tee. Both pieces are available in black, white and drizzle. Our staple tees have all five symbols: I am Peace, I am Love, I am Happiness, I am Blessed, and I am Chaos.
There are so many exciting pieces we are looking forward to for Fall 2011 and we can’t wait to share them with you. Click below for a photo sneak preview of what’s to come.
