Mini-Makeovers and a Photo for Mother’s Day!

We are inviting our friends, fans and customers to bring in moms, daughters and sisters to be part of our Mother’s Day Event at the Coral Gables store.

Enjoy a mini-makeovers with Chanel cosmetics, courtesy of Nordstrom Village of Merrick Park.  After the mini-makeover, take a professional photo for yourself or give as a gift to mom.  It’s all taking place at 225 Miracle Mile tomorrow, Thursday, May 9 from 3pm-8pm.

Invitation special performance Peace Love Honey Shine at Nikki Beach MiamiPeace Love World is thrilled to introduce our 2013 Summer collections at Nikki Beach Miami on Saturday, April 27th. The fashion show is part of a series “What Women Want” presented by Nikki Beach locations around the world. Not only will there be fabulous fashions, food and drinks, but Peace Love World has partnered with Tracy Wilson Mourning to support Honey Shine. Honey Shine is a mentoring program with the mission to encourage the balance of mind, body and soul in girls and young women by providing nurturing experiences that enlighten their paths and empower their future.

Doors open at 7pm where you can bid on a great silent auction items, preview the brand new hard side luggage for Peace Love World by Heys USA, get ahead on your Mother’s Day gift giving at the Peace Love World pop up store, or just hang out in our photo booth! We’ll be tagging and posting all night long using #peaceloveworld #nikkibeachmiami. Order up one of our specialty drinks and $2 from every drink will go directly to Honey Shine!

The fashion show will open with a special performance by local girl gone Hollywood, Jeanine Mason, winner of season 5 “So You Think You Can Dance” and Kupono Aweau, another season 5 contestant. Jeanine just wrapped on the pilot for “Delirium,” a new show on Fox this fall while Kupono just completed dancing on tour with Madonna.

Kardashians return to Miami

KKO 5 300x300 Kardashians return to MiamiSunday night premiered not one, but two new episodes of “Kourtney & Kim Take Miami” on E! network.  It had all the glamour, style, and spray tan you could have hoped for!

Missing from the Kardashian Krew were the significant others: Scott, Lamar, and Kanye.  Scott arrived soon enough and Kanye sent representation in the form of a white Persian kitten. How did Khloe handle missing Lamar?  KKO 2 300x199 Kardashians return to MiamiShe “borrowed” a unicorn statue from the hotel lobby (reminiscent of the blow up giraffe Lamar sent to her hotel room in the past).  Getting the unicorn (affectionately named “Uni”) back to the hotel room was no problem at all for Khloe in her Peace Love World gear. Khloe was wearing an oversized black raglan in Love Fall Love 2 Love collection and I am Blessed fleece pants from Spring.

Jillian Peaces Out!

Jillian left the show two seasons ago and during that time became a mother. Don’t think Mommyhood has turned Jillian into a softie! She’s tougher than ever on contestants this season with the theme of Challenge America, an initiative to fight childhood obesity. It’s only week 2 and Jillian is down from five contestants to two on her team.

It was a tense moment broken by some much needed laughter. We’re crossing our fingers that Jillian’s team isn’t obliterated in the first three weeks. But, if she ends up without a team on the ranch, at least she has her comfy fleece pants to watch from home!

Alina Villasante Joins the Pink Ribbon Project

Recently our very own Alina Villasante had the honor of being asked to participate in the Second Annual Pink Ribbon Project.  The photo campaign, benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure Miami/Ft. Lauderdale Affiliate, celebrates the photos of 10 local influencers who have donated their time to help eradicate breast cancer.

Now in its second year, the Pink Ribbon Project highlights the work and creativity of local photographers who want to raise money for breast cancer awareness. This year, the exhibit will showcase the photos of lifestyle photographer Laura Coppelman, who constructed a set of 750 yards of pink ribbon for the project.

The acclaimed photographer also collaborated with Miami artist David ‘Lebo’ Le Batard, who painted the names of breast cancer survivors and victims on each woman.

Behind the scenes, it was an emotional experience for Alina to learn about Laura’s best friend, whom she lost to breast cancer. Two large posters of the best friends hung in the studio during the pink ribbon shoot.  Says Alina, “It was so amazing; it felt so real and connected to the cause. Everyone there, Laura, Lebo, the other women, were very real, authentic, and have one purpose in mind, to find a cure for Breast Cancer.”

The pink event takes place on Thursday, October 4 from 7 – 9 p.m. at Cafeina in Wynwood.  Ticket prices are $20 per person and the photos will be on display at the gallery through October 7.  Full proceeds from the evening and sale of prints purchased will fully benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure Miami/Ft. Lauderdale Affiliate

Peace Love World supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Since the beginning, part of Peace Love World’s mission is to give back. We do this by specially choosing to support causes that have a personal connection to us. One of these causes is breast cancer awareness.

So many women we know both personally and professionally have been affected – some have lost the battle and some are still fighting, surviving, and more importantly, thriving.  Each and every October Peace Love World wants to encourage women to be brave, fight the fight, and get a screening.

This year’s special edition Breast Cancer Awareness collection has been expanded.  Not only do have our PLW style pink ribbon v-neck tee and our “I am Life” pink ribbon silicone bracelet, we also have a baseball cap, a fleece hoodie, and a long sleeve raglan top.  This year’s theme takes the pink ribbon and translates it into an “I am Love” heart.  A percentage of proceeds of this specially designed collection benefit breast cancer research and care through the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
